She was predeceased by her devoted husband the late William D. Vines with whom she was married for 62 years until his death in 2014. She was born and raised in Brighton, the eldest daughter of John and Barbara "Downey" Shea. She is the sister of John "Jack" Shea of Boca Raton FL, and the late Alice White of Burlington MA. She graduated Regis College in 1950 with a degree in dietary science. She enjoyed a long career as a dietitian ultimately retiring as the Dietary Services Manager of Tufts University. In 1949, at the age of 20, he emigrated from the Greek village - Droushia/Paphos through Ellis Island to work in New Jersey with his godfather in the restaurant business.
