This article contains spoilers for And Just Like That seasons one and two
We've been eagerly waiting the return of And Just Like That ever since season three was confirmed in August 2023. Announcing the news, showrunner Michael Patrick King said in a statement to Variety: "We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex And The City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors. And Just Like That... here comes season three."
Filming started in Manhattan in May, with Sarah Jessica Parker sharing some of Carrie Bradshaw's looks in behind-the-scenes snaps on her Instagram page. Highlights so far include an oversized gingham hat worn for eating ice cream in the park and a sheer tulle dress embroidered with roses... and that was just in week one.
With plenty more extravagant outfits expected as filming continues, here's everything we know about the third season of And Just Like That, including the cast, plot, release date, and latest updates...
And Just Like That season three: Trailer
There's no official trailer for And Just Like That season three yet, but we have just been given a very small sneak peek at the action. In its trailer of upcoming shows for 2025, HBO included a few short clips from AJLT S3. We see Carrie walking away from Miranda on the street, while saying 'very exciting' with a smile, while Miranda is also shown enjoying a cocktail, and Charlotte is seen laughing with Carrie at a bar (see more below). Safe to say, we can't wait for the first proper teaser trailer to land...
And Just Like That season three: Cast
Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) will all be returning to our screens, and they'll be joined by familiar faces from the previous two series. Nicole Ari Parker, who plays Lisa Todd Wexley, and Sarita Choudhury, who stars as Seema Patel, will be back, alongside Cathy Ang and Alexa Swinton, who play Charlotte's children Lily and Rock.
And photos from the set suggest that John Corbett, who plays Carrie's ex-fiancé, Aidan Shaw, is included in the cast once again, despite a rocky ending to series two.
But there are a few cast members who we may not be seeing this time around. It's thought that Sara Ramirez, who played Miranda's love interest Che, will not be returning, although this has yet to be confirmed by the show's studio, Max.
Karen Pittman, who played professor Nya Wallace in the first two seasons, has also departed the SATC sequel due to her other work commitments.
"It has been a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning Professor Nya Wallace on the first two seasons of And Just Like That…," a spokesperson for Max told Deadline. "As we have thoroughly enjoyed working with this dynamic actress, so too have others. Due to her commitments to two other streamer series, it has become apparent that filming three shows at once isn’t possible. Due to the production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of season 3 of And Just Like That… Karen and Nya will be missed, and her Max family and fans will all be cheering her on in her other endeavors."
Also, keep an eye out for newcomer, comedian Rosie O'Donnell who shared a photo of the script for the show in early May. She will play a character called Mary, but that's all we know so far.
Some more new faces will also be joining season three, as reported by Deadline. These include Mehcad Brooks (Law & Order), Jonathan Cake (The Affair, Desperate Housewives) and Logan Marshall-Green (The O.C.).
The first on-set images of Jonathan Cake have popped up, appearing to show his character on a dinner date with SJP's Carrie, suggesting he could be her new love interest for And Just Like That series 3 now that her romance with Aidan is up in the air.

Although fans of Carrie and Aidan shouldn't be too dispirited, as more recent on-set photos appear to show the two characters holding hands at what looks like a funeral. The plot thickens...
As well as this, two S2 characters will reportedly be returning as regulars – Sebastiano Pigazzi, who played Anthony's new love interest Giuseppe, and Dolly Wells, who starred as Miranda's potential new love interest, Joy.
And Just Like That season three: Plot
In the series two finale, Aidan told Carrie he needed to be in Virginia full time for a few years to help care for his sons, but he assured her it was not another breakup. So, where does this leave the fan-favourite couple? Will they really still be together?
Parker hasn't given much away, but during an interview on NBC's Today with Hoda & Jenna, she said: "It just feels really lovely. So there will be layers and complexities and complications as there always are - especially in Carrie's life."
And Just Like That season three: Release date
With Parker and co-stars including Kristin Davis seen on set in recent weeks, excitement around the new series is already building, but a firm launch date for the series hasn't been set. According to reports by Variety and Deadline, the third outing of the show won't be until 2025. Stay tuned!
